CPD For Our Schools

Within our trust, we are committed to developing our staff as we believe this will impact the quality of leadership and learning experienced by our students.

Our staff can access a broad range of courses including, NPQSL, NPQML, SSAT Lead Practitioner, and many more via the Empower Teaching School Alliance of which we are a partner.

The Empower Teaching School Alliance is a collaboration of 16 schools based in the London Borough of Havering. They work together to provide school to school support and continuing professional development for teachers, support staff, and local committee members. They do this in order to raise standards, encourage a system-led approach to school improvement, and support teachers by providing environments in Havering schools in which people want to work and learn.

Each school also has a comprehensive annual calendar of CPD opportunities with staff encouraged to attend INSET in any school within the Trust. These CPD calendars include INSET on staff well-being which is a priority for the trust. Examples of CPD in each school can be seen on the following links.

In addition, schools have a joint staff development day annually with a focus on trust priorities and often led by high-profile presenters within the world of education. Local Committee Members and Trustees also access development opportunities via the Havering Governor training hub. Faculties within the 5 schools have developed regular network meetings and use these opportunities to develop staff.
